Find joy in the small things.

Here’s the thing. Teaching can get heavy. Yes, even in kindergarten. There’s so much to cover and never enough time. What matters is we find moments of joy. ⁣

Yesterday, while reading Today I Will Fly, with a focus on using a character’s face and body language to better understand traits, we got to this page.

⁣As I read the text, a giggle from the carpet. Then I did exactly what I was asking my students to do. As I studied Piggie’s face and body language, I too began to laugh. ⁣ ⁣

Then we all laughed, good belly laughs, together at her antics. It was only a minute or two out of our read aloud, but it was everything. ⁣ ⁣

Find those moments. Relish them.
